It is a very visual game that children love with which, at the same time, they  are establishing routines without hardly realizing it. Do you want to know how to work with this game at home? Keep reading and you will see how this game works that fights child disobedience.

‘The tree of achievements’: routine game for children

This game is suitable for children from 3 to 10 years old. It will help your children achieve their own personal achievements and thus increase their self-esteem. With it, we can avoid having to repeat the same things a thousand times for your children to do their homework. You will achieve that they are the ones who carry them out; doing daily chores will become a game for everyone.

How does the game ‘the tree of achievements’ work?

The game is made up of a magnetic board on which a tree is drawn on one side and a blackboard on the other. It also has some magnetized apples on which routines of daily life are written, some stickers of animals, stars and gomets.

Step by Step:

  1. Inside the tree, the apples (achievements) that your child has achieved will be placed. For example, “I brush my teeth after dinner” , “ I dress alone”,  “ I pee and poop in the toilet-potty”.
  2. At the base of the tree are placed the apples whose routines we want our child to achieve. Every day that our child performs this task, the apple moves along the dotted path until it reaches the tree.
  3. When you have gotten the apple into the tree of achievements, get a star to place in the title.
  4. T his game also takes into account consistency, that is, that the child continues to maintain that achieved routine for a period of time (one week). If he succeeds, he is presented with a sticker of an animal.
  5. After achieving this, the child goes to the next challenge. We must not forget to write down the achievements in the notebook!

Esther Egea Sánchez, the creator of this game, recommends starting with the simplest routines. Every day that the child does the homework, the apple advances along the dotted path and, in addition, we review those already conquered.

We must encourage him with positive reinforcement phrases. If one day you don’t get it, nothing happens! “It is important not to fall into the trap of criticism and not scold,”  explains Esther Egea. Not all routines require the same time or require the same dedication.

Stimulates autonomy

The child will realize that he can achieve things on his own and will need your help less and less.

Increase motivation

As your little one achieves goals on his own, he will want to keep working so he can achieve new ones.
